14 children from year six at Shirehampton Primary School spent a week working with artist Rachael Clerke & Bristol Photo Festival, thinking and playing around the subjects of shipping and globalisation. They visited the nearby Port of Bristol at Avonmouth & Portbury, created ship and port alter-egos, and invented a global shipping game where they transported grain, cars, crockery and more around the world (gym hall).

Weaving living movement portraits to remember each of the women’s individual expressions and repeated movements during life and work in Avonmouth, as a celebration of their lives. Dry Season takes the audience on an autobiographical journey through a chaotic year of hormones, mental health issues and NHS visits. Intimate, honest and darkly humourous, Kat uses spoken word theatre to explore societal expectations of age and gender, our need for connection, and how we cope with change.
